Carmina Burana
With Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre
Dr. Craig Jessop will conduct the American Festival Chorus, in collaboration with the Utah Festival Orchestra and soloists, in a performance of Carl Orff’s spectacular cantata Carmina Burana. This dazzling concert will be held Wednesday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Newel and Jean Daines Concert Hall in Utah State University’s Chase Fine Arts Center.
Carmina Burana is a scenic cantata composed by Carl Orff between 1935 and 1936 and is based on the celebrated medieval collection of poems. The best-known movement is "O Fortuna," which opens and closes the piece.
